We all know how devastating a hurricane can be. In a matter of a few hours, all of your belongings can be gone leaving you and your family without basic necessities. If you've ever lived through a bad storm, you understand. If you haven't, consider yourself warned.

Jackson County Leaders Broke Ground on One of Three New FEMA 361 Disaster Shelters.

Jackson County leaders broke ground today, July 12th, at the site of one of three new FEMA 361 disaster shelters.  The 10,000 square foot building will be complete in late spring 2012.  One is located in St. Martin; this one is in Vancleave, and the third one is in East Central.  American Red Cross of Mississippi State Director of Public Affairs Paige Roberts spoke at the shelter groundbreaking.
